Training and Registration

In 2010 Joanne decided to train to become a Veterinary Physiotherapist and in 2013 she achieved a PgDip in Veterinary Physiotherapy from Harper Adams University and registered with the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP). She has since also registered on the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP). Upon qualifying Joanne established her mobile animal physiotherapy service treating mainly dogs and horses across the North East of England. Throughout this time she has also provided her services at one of the North East Veterinary Referral Hospitals.

Experience

Working at a North East Veterinary Referral Hospital provided immeasurable experience. Whilst working alongside specialist vets in areas such as Neurology, Orthopaedics, Soft tissue and Internal medicine Joanne treat thousands of dogs with complex needs. She found both treating patients and supporting their owners extremely rewarding.

About The Canine Physiotherapy and Performance Centre

In 2021 Joanne established The Canine Rehabilitation and Performance centre. The centre provides assessment and treatment for dogs with injuries or conditions affecting mobility as well as  enhancing performance and minimising risk of injury in sport and working dogs.  Healthy sport and working dogs benefit from physiotherapy treatment. Appropriate treatment and exercise programmes can minimise risk of injury.

Joanne is keen to share her knowledge with owners and veterinary nurses and when appropriate teach them skills and techniques which they can use at home.
